Double Eyelid Surgery
Some people lack a natural fold above their eyelashes in the upper portion of the eyelid. With a “single fold,” many patients feel their eyes lack definition and a general brightness—both issues a simple double eyelid surgery can correct.
Ideal Surgical Candidates
The majority of double eyelid surgery candidates are Asian—upwards of 50% of the Asian population lacks a natural eyelid fold. Others may have uneven folds or dull-looking folds due to weaker eye muscles or excess inner eyelid skin. Deep wrinkles or lines can also lead to a less visible or less defined eyelid fold.
Double eyelid surgeries typically take about one hour to complete, with another hour for post-op monitoring. This is an outpatient procedure, so patients are discharged same-day, shortly after post-op assessments.
Within one week stitches will be removed. Swelling and bruising improves after one to two weeks, but may take up to three months for all swelling to resolve.
Benefits of Eyelid Surgery
Once complete, patients will have a visible, natural-looking crease even when their eyes are open. Eyes appear more open and generally patients look more awake and alert. This procedure also makes it easier to apply eye makeup.
Though results vary by patient, skin type, age and environmental factors, the majority of patients only require one eyelid procedure. Results are designed to be long-lasting, for years or even decades. Contact Dr. Linder to learn more and schedule your no-obligation consultation now.
